Riverwalk Books was established August 1994 with the dream of developing into the quintessential community bookstore. Over the years, Riverwalk Books, has sponsored and supported a vast array of community activities - from numerous author readings, organized literary events, to children's writing contests. Riverwalk Books was originally located at 113 Emerson Street in downtown Chelan.

While still in the Emerson location a second floor was added and was known as Riverwalk Books Another Story. In May of 2001 Riverwalk Books was seeking a change of scenery and relocated to 116 E. Woodin Aveune in downtown Chelan.

Since then Riverwalk Books has evolved into much more than your simple bookstore. Now at Riverwalk Books you can find not only books, but games and toys, wireless internet, public computer access, UPS shipping, fax services, and last but not least Open Book Espresso. Open Book Espresso joined the Riverwalk Books family in the Summer of 2005.

Riverwalk Books has received the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year award twice, first in 1996 and again in 2005.
